Mu-rdered Sofiat: Ogun Court Exonerate, Releases Suspect | READ IN FULL
An Abeokuta Magistrate Court on Monday, March 14, exonerated one of the suspected killers of Sofiat Okeowo in Ogun state.
Recall that in January, 4 teenagers were arrested for allegedly beheading Sofiat, girlfriend to one of the suspects for money rituals. READ HERE
The prime suspect in the m-urder, 18-year-old Soliu Majekodunmi, and also the deceased’s boyfriend before her demise, had claimed that he learnt how to bur-n human sku-ll for ritual from Facebook. READ HERE
They were all remanded at the Oba correctional centre in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government of the state after they were first arraigned in court.
At the resumed sitting on Monday, Chief Magistrate I.O Abudu, freed 17 year old Wariz Oladehinde based on the legal advice of the state Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
According to Abudu, “no charge was recorded against Oladeinde in the legal advice.”
The Chief Magistrate said his judgement was based on a police investigation, which he said proved his innocence in the crime.
The court adjourned till April 22 for further hearing of the charges against the remaining three suspects
