One of the top governorship aspirants in the just concluded guber primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Professor Mohammed Sani Yahaya, has announced his decision to withdraw his membership from the party.
He communicated his decision via a statement made available to newsmen in Jalingo, the state capital.
Yahaya, together with other aspirants, had described the primaries as a charade.
In the company of other aggrieved gubernatorial aspirants of the party, he had earlier kicked at the way and manner the exercise was alleged to have been shoddily carried out in the state.
He however told our correspondent that he is yet to decide which party he will join.
Apart from the former Vice-Chancellor of the Taraba State University, that has publicly withdrawn his membership from the APC, none of the aggrieved aspirants, at the time of filing this report, have made public statements.
Our correspondent gathered that the majority of them have also concluded plans to leave the party.
Sources closed to some of the aggrieved aspirants told THE PRESS that the outcome of the party’s forthcoming presidential primaries would determine “whether to remain or dumped the party.”
THE PRESS also gathered that Yahaya is on the verge of joining the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
